Bonaventura Peeters (1614–1652) was a Flemish painter known especially for his dramatic marine scenes. Born in Antwerp, he portrayed ships, harbours, storms and turbulent seas with a strong sense of movement and atmosphere. He also worked as a draughtsman and etcher, and belonged to a family of artists. His paintings are recognised for their detailed ships and vivid depictions of life at sea.
