Richard Bankes Harraden (1778–1862) was the son of Richard Harraden (1756–1838), a topographical draughtsman and engraver, and the father of Henry Richard Harraden (1815–1870), printseller, carver, gilder and stationer. Richard Bankes Harraden was a landscape painter and printmaker associated with and working in Cambridge, and an early and exhibiting member of the Society of British Artists in London (est. 1823): he remained so until 1849. He is also noted as testifying to a government committee on copyright for engravers in 1818.
